Iron Meat is a fast-paced, run and gun shooter in the vein of Contra, In the world of Iron Meat the world is overrun by The Meat an all consuming interdimensional biomass. You battle against mutated victims and machines, dodge bullet barrages, and crush bosses in 9 levels of gore infused brutality.

You play as Vadim (Pretty much Doomguy) who is tasked in fighting back against The Meat and the terrors created by the scientist Yuri Markov.

The gameplay is fast and furious which is the trademark in this genre with a very tight control system there are 3 difficulty settings so you can keep challenging yourself and over 30 collectibles to unlock which allow you to customize your player with the bonus of Couch Co-Op. Once you have beaten the game which doesn’t take very long you unlock mirror mode which as you would expect flips the whole game over (Us Mario Kart Veterans will be used to that).

The sound effects are excellent, and the sounds of the weapons projectiles are also brilliant, the music is adrenaline with crushing guitars and upbeat tempos.

Performance wise this game runs like a dream on the Nintendo Switch something we haven’t always been able to say with games being ported to Switch.

In conclusion this is a short review, I was originally hesitant to purchase Iron Meat because I thought ah another Contra clone but what a mistake that was for me to sleep on this game, yes you can see the obvious influence from Contra but Iron Meat is it’s own entity and a game ALL SHOOT EM UP fans should have in their collections. Iron Meat doesn’t try to be anything other than being an addictively fun game I had a great time playing this game and I will be playing this again and again to unlock everything, and to the developers Ivan Valeryevich Suvorov & Retroware please make more.

This game is a must has the rating of MUST BUY
