Platform reviewed on Nintendo Switch 2

Purchased the collector’s edition.

Terrifier the horror franchise that got me back into that genre of movie now has a video game in the form of a beat em up.

Now there is going to be two scores that I give for this game, and this may well happen with certain Nintendo Switch games I purchase; the first score will be for the game it’s self and the second score will be for the content and quality of the collector’s edition.

There are 4 characters you can play as these are as you expect, Art the Clown, The Little Pale Girl, Victoria Heyes, Adam Burke ( Chris Jericho) you can also team up with up to people in local co-op as you kill your way through stages to prevent a film about Art The Clown being made.

The pixel art for this game is excellent and bloody, and the animation is fluid so no complaints there.  The sound of every impact is meaty and satisfying and the music also packs a punch. There are a variety of weapons you can pick up to help you break the defences of some of the tougher enemies and a special attack that can be used also which can change depending on the type of enemy you are doing it to.

The game play is fun, and you are given option to choose to take a different path to reach the levels boss, so this adds to the replay value taking those different routes. The campaign is short but that is to be expected in this type of game if you are looking for a 10 hour or more campaign then this game isn’t for you, you are getting the arcade experience here, but there are plenty of game modes and multiplayer that adds to those game hours, these modes are Arcade mode, wave mode where you can upgrade your health and weapons as you progress, versus mode where you compete against other players time attack mode for you people who like to complete a game as quick as possible and boss rush mode where you need to kill all bosses within a single round to earn a high score.

There are several collectibles VHS tapes as an example that unlock gallery items.

Performance wise I noticed no issues on the Nintendo Switch 2 I played this in handheld mode and there is no S2 version whether this is something that the developers will add a later date I do not know but for me I don’t think it needs it.

I have spent around 30 hours playing the game trying all the modes using the different characters so you should be able to find a character that will fit your game style.

Here is a list of bosses, George-o-Scope, Executive Smith, Joydio, Sienna Saw, Clapperella, Master Savini, Director Leone.

The general enemy types are limited it would have been nice to of seen a few more different types of enemy but it what it is and hopefully there will be another game with more variety.

So, for the game I am going to score this 9 out of 10 I had a fun time playing the game and I will be keeping this game in my rotation as I want to beat my high score etc.

Now onto the collector’s edition – This edition comes with the game, Pin badges of Art and Vicky, a puke bag, reversable poster, bloody gameplay gloves, CD sound track, Arts art book, Instruction manual, Digital exclusive (Santa variant of Art), Hardcore mode with alternative ending, stickers, a threat letter from Art The Clown and a thank you letter from Damien.

All these items are of excellent quality, and all contained a premium collector’s box for someone who is a big fan of the franchise this is a must have collection and I score the contents as a 10 out of 10

As always don’t just take my word for it go have a look at gameplay videos and other reviews or watch a streamer playing the game and see if it is a game that takes your fancy.
