Chronicle of the Wolf is set in a world inspired by the Beast of Gevaudan, you step
into the boots of Mateo Lombardo the last apprentice of the Rose Cross Order on a
grim quest to hunt a legendary terror.

Right from the get-go the game envelops you in a dark, atmospheric ambiance
enriched by illustrated cutscenes and compelling audio narration from the one and
only Robert Belgrade (Castlevania: Symphony of the Night)
The world design is a standout, drawing into meticulously crafted environments full of
secrets.
As you acquire new abilities like double jumps air dashes and items like
boots that let you walk on water and across tight ropes and a right evil weapon of an
axe that takes life from you if you use it.
The map rewards exploration and completing puzzles which reward you with items
which make the game easier and open more areas of the map to explore.
The soundtrack for this game is brilliant as well and really adds to the atmosphere;
Migami Games have created the NPCs that you can interact with often give you
clues of where you need to be next and sometimes give you a little warning of what’s
a head.
The combat feels great, and you quickly find when taking on bosses which are very
well designed and offer a challenge but a fair challenge, a tip I will give you is take
on the boss with your preferred weapon and if you get slaughtered change the
weapon to something else maybe the daggers.

But that’s not all once you have finished the game there are more bosses to find and
kill and a special boss Bloodless from Bloodstained (Who is an absolute beast)

In conclusion Migami games has released a brilliant game in the MetroidVania genre
but maybe I will change it to Migavania now as Migami Games are fast becoming
one of my favourite developers. There are some minor blemishes for example the
controls can be a little stiff but once you are used to that you will forget all about that
blemish.
I have enjoyed Chronicles of the Wolf immensely so much, so Migami Games has
inspired me to try and make my own video game.
For me this game is a MUST BUY for any Castlevania fan. I am looking forward to
seeing what Migami Games do next.
And as always this is just my opinion, please do go check out gameplay videos or
watch streamers playing the game or purchase the game and make up your own
opinion. The game is not expensive £20 since launch same price as Hollow Knight
Silksong and no you cannot compare these two games they are very different.
