Ninja Gaiden Ragebound is a stunning return for this iconic franchise, merging razor sharp platforming and lightning-fast combat. Ninja Gaiden Ragebound developed by the Game Kitchen the masterminds behind the Blasphemous franchise and in my opinion one of the best indie developers out there currently.

This spin off delivers a wonderfully crated and fast paced action platformer of epic proportions that I have found very difficult to put down.
The game welcomes players to a stunningly crafted pixel art world full of characters and demons to slaughter.

You play as Kenji a Ninja defending his village from the Demon lords’ forces. The story centres around Kenji and Kumori a Ninja from the rival Black spider clans whose soul has been merged with Kenji’s as they try to stop the demon lord being freed, you are tasked in finding free keys/crystals that had been hidden to keep the demon lord imprisoned. The combat is superb you are encouraged to swap between close quarters to ranged combat seamlessly, the combat is so fast and fluid you literally feel like a whirl wind of death, and this does not change when you are having to use Kumori this opens up a different mode of attack for the games exploration opening areas of the map not accessible to Kenji.

The other mechanics you will be using are the mid-air bounce attack that you will be using a lot against bosses and enemies in general but to also traverse the map. There are items you can collect that
can be traded for talismans that can make the game a little easier or tougher if you are a complete maniac of course, there are secret paths with items for you to find but don’t worry if you do not find them all on the first play through this game is well worth playing again multiple times.

The music is excellent as well and really suits the game adrenaline fuelled carnage. The pace is fast and furious, and the game is short, but I do not mind this as the game has so much action in it and of course replay value.
Now seeing as The Game Kitchen are behind the Blasphemous franchise this should tell you that Ninja Gaiden is tough but again rewarding, there are a lot of accessibility options where you can make yourself invincible if you are finding the game too difficult, I did not mess with the difficulty settings myself even though I was tempted as I died like a billion times.
In conclusion Ninja Gaiden Ragebound is another brilliant MetroidVania and another brilliant release from The Game Kitchen.

I played this on the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 and the games works perfectly fine on both.

This is another MUST BUY game for me, and lets not forget it is the battle of the Ninjas as the long awaiting revival of Shinobi has been released, (review being written)
But as always this is just my opinion so please do read some other reviews or go and watch some YouTube gameplay videos.
